Portfolio Project Assignment: Interactive Internet Retirement Calculator

You have already created two web pages for your web site: (1) index.htm, which is your "home page;" and (2) presentation.htm, which is a web-enabled Power Point presentation.

Your third portfiolio project assignment is to create an interactive, web-enabled Excel spreadsheet and place that page on your web site. Call this page "retirement.htm," and place a link to it on your home page.

Notes:

• Format the cells to make them visually attractive

• To add interactivity:
  • File --> Save as Web Page --> Selection: Sheet --> Add Interactivity

• Change File Name to "retirement.htm"

• Change Title (what shows up at the top left of the title bar on Internet Explorer and Netscape; it will also appear directly above the spreadsheet) to "Bob's Retirement Calculator," or some other similar title.

• Note that, since you do not have any supporting graphics, there is no "supporting folder" with the html file. This means that you only have to transfer the file called "retirement.htm" to your public_html folder.
  

Question: What if my retirement calculator does not fit in the screen in Internet Explorer?

• Tools --> Options --> Web Options --> General --> ensure that "pixels per inch is not at 120 (select either 72 or 96)
