Convert to Web Site (for Newsletters and Brochures
- The easiest
way is to use the Web Site Wizard (File --> New --> Web Site).
- crucial points
to consider:
- (1) Save
your file in Publisher format (file extension = *.pub) until you are ready
to ftp the document to your public_html folder. If you do not have a Publisher
version of your web pages saved, you will no longer be able to alter them
using Publisher.
- (2) As a
default, Publisher will save the first page of any web pages it creates
as "index.html". Obviously, this creates a conflict with your
pre-existing home page. Therefore, it is imperative that, before you send
all of these documents to public-html, that you re-name the newsletter's
index.html file (e.g., newsletter.htm).
- You
can change the title of any individual page in Publisher from the
"Web Properties" selection in the File menu.
- (3) Before
saving your file as a web page, create a new folder (call it newsletter)
in your j-drive folder and save the Publisher files there.
- N.B. -
If you change any links, Publisher will automatically "synchronize"
them.
- If you
follow the naming conventions given here, the hyperlink you would place
on your Word/Dreamweaver home page would be http://www.acs.brockport.edu/~username/newsletter/newsletter.htm
