What is Recruitment week?

For people who are not too familiar with the process of joining a fraternity, here are the steps:

  1. Recruitment week is when anyone who is interested learns about the fraternity and meets the current brothers of the fraternity
  2. After recruitment week is over the current brothers meet and decide who gets a "bid". A bid is a formal invitation for someone to pledge for the fraternity.
  3. The individual then has the right to accept the bid and start pledging or to turn it down and go their own way

This process is so that the individuals can see if the organization is right for them and for the Fraternity brothers to see if the individual is the kind of person that would represent brotherhood and project a positive image.
