• Served as a member the Board of Governors for the California State University Program Education and Research in Biotechnology (CSUPERB).
• Reviewed grant applications for the National Science Foundation Instrumentation and Laboratory Improvement Grant program.
• Reviewed textbooks and educational software in microbiology, genetics and biotechnology for Benjamin-Cummings, Brooks/Cole, Prentice Hall and McGraw-Hill publishers.
